Sometimes I wish disappointments worked like trash — something you could bag up, drag to the curb, and never think about again. Unfortunately, some things stay with you longer than they should. The original seed frames for this video were filmed at the Collier County Fair in Naples, Florida. The track itself was produced in Pro Tools, while AI-assisted animation and visual workflows were used to transform those real environments into the strange dreamlike world surrounding the song. I'm interested in the space where real emotion, practical filmmaking, and emerging technology collide — using new tools to visualize feelings and memories that are otherwise difficult to explain.

This song came from thinking about how strange attention really is — how people chase it, build identities around it, fake generosity for it, and still end up empty afterward. A lot of the lyrics are exaggerated on purpose, but the emotions underneath them are real. There's humor in it, chaos in it, and probably a little self-criticism too. Part of Dathan Grave is exploring the uncomfortable space between wanting to matter and realizing attention alone doesn't fix anything. The whole thing feels like somebody spiraling confidently in public while quietly trying to figure themselves out in private.

This song is basically what it feels like to walk back through old memories you thought you buried. The "house of horrors" isn't really a carnival attraction — it's your own mind replaying things you wish you could forget, exaggerating them, distorting them, and forcing you to look at them anyway. A lot of the imagery in this track comes from real feelings tied to childhood, anger, depression, shame, and the strange way trauma can almost become familiar over time. The mirrors represent different versions of yourself you can't fully escape from. Like most Dathan Grave songs, there's dark humor and absurdity layered into it, but underneath all of that is something pretty honest about how memory and mental illness can follow people for years.

This song is probably the closest thing I've written to an honest self-description. It's about feeling isolated inside your own head while still trying to laugh at it enough to survive it. A lot of the lyrics came from real thoughts that are uncomfortable to say out loud — depression, self-doubt, intrusive thinking, and the strange feeling of trying to be spiritual while your brain constantly fights against you. The line about "making garbage with my AI friends" is intentionally self-aware. I use AI tools for visual storytelling, but the emotions, direction, and music still come from a very real place. Sometimes humor is easier than pretending everything is okay.
